Due to COVID-19, all of the fairs have been canceled here in Connecticut. Even the Big E, in Massachusetts, which canceled beyond the last minute. It's the first time in decades and decades, if ever, that this has happened.

Back in July, Lisa got a promotion at work. With that promotion, her hours changed a bit. She goes in later and gets out later. Adjusting to that wasn't a big issue because we bought a house in February and our schedule no longer reloves around anyone. There is no bullshit. No drama. No intentional noises throughout the morning, afternoon, and evening hours. It's beyond quiet and peaceful here.
We celebrated our 6-month house-aversary last week. Back in February, we bought a house and moved in 3 days later. It was a house that we toured and fell in love with in January. We made an offer in the morning. By that evening, the sellers accepted our offer. Then, it was almost 5 weeks of packing and stress and planning.
Last week, Lisa and I received some incredible unexpected gifts. Farm fresh eggs. A jar of homemade strawberry rhubarb preserves. Green tomatoes. A decorative sign. A couple more ceiling fans for our Bodacious Dragonfly Project. We are exceptionally grateful.
We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful humans who gifted us such wonderful and unexpected treats this week. Homemade strawberry rhubarb pie filling that will be transformed into a gorgeous pie on Sunday. Green tomatoes that I will be frying up over the weekend. A variety of farm fresh eggs that we will enjoy because they're our favorite. A handcrafted sign that completely radiates our personality as Dog Moms. And (not shown), the last 2 ceiling fans that were dropped off in our yard so we can complete our Bodacious Dragonfly Project.
Willa is our youngest child. The one with the most energy. At least 275 times a day, she drops one of her many "bally balls" at our feet, both indoors and outdoors, for us to throw. The continuous games of Fetch. And yes, this includes Willa dropping the ball at our feet while one of us is sitting on the toilet.
It is 3 days after tropical storm Isaias gave our area a rather substantial beating. There are still hundreds of thousands of people without power. We're amid another heatwave. So many people have had to throw hundreds of dollars worth of food away because they did grocery shopping last weekend.
On Monday, I mentioned that we decided to do a little storm prep because it appeared that tropical storm Isaias was going to directly impact where we live. As I am writing this, I'm still in awe that we still have power and internet because Isaias did pay us a visit and over half of Connecticut is without power.
