It's The Thought That Counts

Back in December, we made this incredible DIY dog bed for some friends of ours who had just recently adopted a senior pup. They have big hearts. Their 2 other furry kids are rescue pups. We absolutely adore this couple for so many reasons.

Their newly adopted senior loved the DIY dog bed.

Earlier this month, another couple who we are friends with adopted a rescue pup. During our House Warming party, they showed us photos. At the time, they had filled out the application. Within a few days, everything was approved.

I Always Make Enough To Share

I spend Sunday afternoons baking homemade sandwich rolls, cookies, and other goodies for Lisa's work lunches. This also happens on Wednesday afternoons too in addition to baking homemade treats for our kids. It's what I've always done. It's what I will continue to do.

No More Hot Lunches...

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic that is happening now, all non-essential businesses are closed. Restaurants and delis and cafes are no longer allowed to offer dine-in services. Instead, most are offering take-out, delivery, and curbside service. People everywhere are supporting their favorite local establishments by utilizing these options. That includes us.

I Finally Had One Of My Graceful Moments

If you ask anyone I know, they'll tell you that Grace is not my middle name. Yes, I'm the woman who stumbles going up a flight of stairs and I've been known to trip over air. It's rare if I go a week without stumbling or having some sort of freak accident.

We Can Finally Call It Ours...

I took this photo last May. We had spent the day doing yardwork and decorating our porch with flowers and buckets of tomato plants. Lisa was clearing out a few leaves from the butterfly bush we planted. We were exhausted, but the porch and front yard looked incredible.

What You See Isn't Always What You Get

I have lost count of how many times I have seen this photo and recipe posted on Facebook. Each and every single time I see it plastered on my newsfeed, I cringe. Why?

Bagels And Daffodils

When we looked at this house on January 12th of this year, we knew it was the one. We had viewed another house earlier in the morning. When we arrived at this house, our realtor spent over 20 minutes attempting to contact the seller's realtor for the lockbox combination. During that time, Lisa and I roamed the 2 fenced in backyards. One big. One small.

Moments Like This...

I took this photo 4 days before we closed on our house. It was a Saturday. Our last weekend in the home we had rented for almost 8 years. Everything aside from the most essential kitchen items were packed. It was a very stressful time, but we got through it.

A Reminder And A Lil' Inspiration...

We delivered a meal to our elderly neighbor today. Homemade Irish Soup. Fresh made cinnamon swirl bread. Homemade cookies. No, I am not announcing this for a pat on the back.

One. Day. At. A. Time.

Aside from COVID-19 (aka Corona Virus) taking center stage in the news and on social media, there have been other happenings stemming from this nasty and quick spreading virus. At the top of the list is the great toilet paper shortage and empty grocery store shelves. It's obviously a real and growing concern for a lot of people. Understandably so...

Our House Warming Party Was Absolutely Incredible

We want to extend a world of gratitude to those who attended our House Warming party yesterday. We are exceptionally thankful for all of the food, gifts, helping hands, and good cheer. There was a tremendous amount of positive energy flowing throughout our new home.

There Is A Lot Going On And It Has Caught My Attention

A lot has happened over the past couple of days! I sort of mentioned the 2 words we've been hearing over and over and over again during this time. Those 2 words would be "Corona Virus" and "COVID-19." In my Work at Home Dog Mom Life, I have never witnessed a pandemic that has spread so wide and far and caused such pandemonium.

Wait. What. Is This Really Happening?

On Sunday, I posted this photo on my personal Facebook wall. It's our dining room. Accompanying the photo was a little quip that read, "I've always wanted a separate dining room with a big ol' heavy wood table and chairs, and an old heavy clay produce bowl in the center. When Lisa ran an errand today, she made sure to pick up items to fill the clay bowl. Clementine. Kiwi. Bananas. Mango. Avocado. Total yummy bliss. I'm a happy girl."

Instead Of Relaxing, We Decided To Paint The Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Project Workshop

Lisa was on vacation for a week. During that week, we got our entire house unpacked and decorated. It was a lot of work, but we conquered it. Our plan was to bust ass all week and take the weekend to unwind. But. Nope. That didn't happen. Instead...

10 Things You Learn When You Do What Is Best For Your And Your Family

About a week before we closed on our new house, Lisa doled out a little advice to me. Out of the blue. At Home Depot while shopping for our first round of new house items. Her advice took me by surprise despite the fact that when she makes a statement as such, it happens.

I Am Grateful That We Crossed That Line Of Seller-Buyer Etiquette

We received a beautiful card from the previous owners of our home on Saturday. Lisa handed me the envelope. Before I go any further, I need to back up a bit...

We Purchased A Doormat Today...

Lisa is on vacation this week. She had a last minute opportunity to take this week off and she scooped it up. For the first time in at least 5 years, she took a vacation that did not revolve around renovations, painting projects, house and pet sitting, etc. Lisa simply wants to enjoy our new house and settle in.

Today Is The Beginning Of A New Month And It Was Rather Great...

Up early. A scrumptious breakfast at Bill's Bread & Breakfast with Lisa. A little shopping spree at Home Depot for house stuff. Putting faces to names of a couple of cool guys who have only known me for my baked goods. A big bowl of farm fresh eggs gifted to us. A spontaneous adult beverage and great conversation with a special friend of ours.
