Thank You, Carol, For The Donation Of Buttons!

Last weekend, I crocheted over 80 face mask bands for Lisa to take into work with her. I would have made more, but I ran out of buttons. Today, thankfully, we received a small package from our beautiful friend, Carol. Buttons! Buttons! Buttons!

I Crocheted Over 80 Face Mask Bands. No Charge. Time Well Spent.

A week ago, the state of Connecticut made face masks/face coverings mandatory. In short, if you're out in public or your place of employment and social distancing is not an option, you need to wear a face mask/face covering. This new mandate flooded my social media streams. This weekend, I crocheted over 80 face mask bands in 3 different sizes. Small. Medium. Large. For Lisa to bring into work and provide the employees with "elastic behind the ear" relief.

Flour And The Best Cookies Ever!

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there are lots of items that are difficult or impossible to find at grocery stores or other retail locations. Toilet paper. Hand sanitizer. Flour. Yeast. The list goes on. Over the past couple of months, we've been exceptionally grateful to both of our Moms and Dad for sending us toilet paper and packets of yeast

Thank You, Essential Employees!

Lisa is an essential employee. That's been really hard and stressful. As a Work at Home Dog Mom, I have felt helpless. Lisa is the one to leave for work early in the morning. She's been working a ton of hours and is the one to run the occasional errand. It's scary out there.

Turning Something Old Into Something New

We recently ripped down some wall shelving in our bedroom. There was quite a bit. This room originally belonged to a teenager. The color theme is vibrant green and black. It's a cool room and a lot of work went into it at one point. However, it's not our choice of colors. We're eventually going to repaint it and add a couple of rustic bookshelves.

I Honestly Had To Display My Best Poker Face

Yesterday, the contractors arrived to begin the work on our garage. It needed to be sanded and painted. It's a husband and wife duo. Friendly. Down to earth. The gentleman worked solo yesterday sanding and prepping the garage for painting. We chatted for a bit before he began stripping and sanding the garage.

It's A Great Time To Try Your Hand At Making Homemade Dog Treats

One thing I've noticed during this COVID-19 pandemic is that quite a few people are spending more and more time in the kitchen. Being quarantined frees up a lot of time. They're baking homemade goodies including bread. Instead of posting selfies, they're posting photos of their scrumptious accomplishments. Even though it's difficult for us to find flour and sugar and yeast, I'm happy that people are doing this.

I Finally Replied. A Year Later.

I posted this photo last year on April 21st. Easter. We had spent the entire weekend doing yard work and small projects around the house and our home. After a full weekend of work, we enjoyed an unconventional Easter dinner that included shrimp cocktail and grilled fare. It was just Lisa, our kids, and myself. One of the best Easter weekends ever.

We Need To Learn How To Simply Just Live...

Lisa and I enjoyed our early morning coffee on the back porch. The weather was fairly mild. The blooming bushes and fruit trees are flowering. The grass is turning greener. There was lots of activity on our buffet o' bird feeders. To anyone on the outside looking in, it would have appeared to be a picturesque morning. But, it wasn't.

I Got Excited Over Toilet Paper And Packets Of Yeast

The COVID-19 has effected the entire world. It is hitting our state of Connecticut hard all the way around. It has altered our everyday life. Non-essential businesses are closed. Kids are out of school. Events have been canceled. Face masks are going to be mandatory soon. So many people are out of work. Grocery stores and other essential retail locations are only allowing a certain amount of people in at a time. The list goes on and on and on...

Changes Because The COVID-19 Pandemic Effects Our Kids Too

The past few weeks have been really scary with the COVID-19 pandemic hanging over our heads like a black cloud that won't go away. It has affected everyone's life. Non-essential businesses are closed. Countless people are out of work. Grocery store shelves are bare. People have been quarantined and social distancing for weeks. The list goes on and on and on.
