There Is No Excuse. Rake Your Lawn.

I posted this photo today. On my personal Facebook wall. A picture speaks a thousand words. So, this is what I posted on my personal wall accompanied by THIS photo...

When Someone Is Out And About And They Think Of You When They See THAT Something

This blog column is going to be short, but hopefully meaningful. Because, when Lisa returned home from work today, I received a gift. Much needed. A reminder. To back up a bit, the past couple of weeks have been a little difficult. It's not the workload. It's people.

Our Bodacious Slat Style Chubby Snowmen Were A Hit

This was the photo I posted yesterday on my personal Facebook wall. I announced that our slat style chubby snowmen were done and I would be posting them tomorrow (today). Yes, they were purposely turned around for the photo so people couldn't see the finished product just yet. People responded. Within a relatively short amount of time, I realized I probably should have made more than 5.

Why Would I Take On Several More Projects This Time Of Year?

Our Bodacious Dog Mom life is crazy busy. Every single day. For the next month, it's going to be super crazy busy. For example, take today. I pounded out some serious work in the Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Project Workshop on top of doing my usual baking for Lisa's work snacks, prepping and cooking dinner, housework, and other miscellaneous stuff. So, why on earth would I take on several more projects?

'Tis The Season For Super Crazy Busy

Lisa has been busting her ass in the woodshop and I've been doing the same in our Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Project Workshop. 'Tis the season! Life is always crazy busy around here, but for the next month, it's going to be super crazy busy.

It Is Too Close To Home...

I received a message from a neighbor early this morning alerting me that 2 people in our neighborhood had their cars ransacked on the overnight. When I passed it on to our neighbor friends, one of them let me know that her husband's car had been ransacked too. The news of the ransacks did not settle well with me. It's too close to home. Literally.

Meal Prep For My Family Is Not Negotiable. Ever.

I am upon my absolute busiest time of year. My workload is through the roof. I'm up at 4 a.m. when Lisa gets up for work. Lisa takes the kids out and feeds them breakfast while I make her work lunch and a hot breakfast. We chat for a bit while she gets ready for work. After she leaves for work at 5:30, that's when my Work At Home Dog Mom Life begins.

I Am Running Out Of Space In The Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Project Workshop

I have spent the past few days painting dozens of DIY Dog Mom Projects. This year for our 2019 Bodacious Holiday pieces, we're doing a lot of snowmen. In addition to painting and detailing pieces, I'm crocheting hats and scarves for a lot of them. So. Much. Work.

Build A Longer Table. Not A Higher Fence.

Since 2013, Lisa and I have opened our doors on Thanksgiving and Christmas to those who have no place to go or have fallen on hard times. A couple of weeks before those 2 holidays, I post our open invitation on my personal Facebook page. Each time, quite a few people come forth and reply with kind words and blessings. We appreciate the replies. However, what most people don't know is that our open invitation stems from something I experienced when I was 18.

And So It Begins...

On Halloween, Mother Nature ripped the chair I was about to sit on out from under me. I crashed pretty hard. I woke up Friday a bit bruised and extremely sore. Lisa put her foot down and told me that I needed to rest. So, I did.

Halloween Ended With A Big Crash

Yesterday was Halloween. We hosted our 7th Annual Halloween Party. To back up a bit, at first, we were going to take a break this year. As in, no Halloween party. Then, we realized it had become a tradition so we wanted to honor that. More recently, due to the horrible weather, there was a big uproar on social media about towns canceling Halloween or rescheduling it. We decided to honor our tradition.
