What Did Not Work Months Ago Ended Up Working For Us Now

 

A few months after we bought our house in 2020, Lisa got a promotion at work. She worked hard for it over the years. Prior to applying for it, we discussed the change it would entail. Her work schedule. Instead of working the first shift, she would be working mid-shift. 

Forgiveness And Admitting Fault Goes A Long Way All The Way Around

 

During the past month, I have experienced levels of clarity that I haven't experienced in years. Or, maybe ever. Most of this had to do with our overnight guest and last week when Lisa was on vacation for a week.

My Little Reminder To Keep Life Simple

 

We have a handcrafted sign in our kitchen that reads, "Keep Life Simple." It's one of our favorite mantras. For the most part, we adhere to it. However, sometimes, life gets a little loud and one of us needs a gentle reminder. 

Our Staycation Was Incredible. For So Many Reasons. All The Way Around.

 

Lisa's staycation is over and it was back to our regularly scheduled program today. The Monday after Lisa's staycation is always the hardest. Getting back into our daily routine. The kids realizing that Mommy is leaving for work and not just for a quick errand.

A couple of days ago marked the 1 year anniversary of our state declaring a pandemic because of COVID-19. Our local news posted an article commemorating that date back in 2020. It has been quite a year for everyone. Including us. For so many reasons. 

We Finished Another Great Piece Last Week For Our Home

 

Over the past month, we have been enjoying some old pallet boards that were gifted to us. We used some of the boards to make a chalkboard wall in our hallway. After making a few more pieces, we had a few extra boards.

Today Is The 1 Year Anniversary Of Our State Declaring A Pandemic

 

This morning while scrolling through my social media feeds, I stumbled on a post from our local news channel. The post commemorated the 1 year anniversary of the governor of our state declaring pandemic status due to COVID-19. It was 3 days prior to our house warming party. I snapped this photo the day before.

We had an overnight guest last month. The last time we had an overnight night guest was back in the Spring of 2013. At the time, we had one kid. Coco. Almost 8 years later, we have 4 kids.

Our Kids Are Loving Their Homemade Loaded Meatball Treats

 

If you have kept up with this blog, or know us personally, you know that we make our kids homemade meals and treats. Over the years, our kids let us know that their favorite treats are the meatballs we make for them. Sure, they love the occasional homemade sweet dog treat. But. We don't give them a lot of sweet treats. Those are saved for special occasions like Gotcha Days and Holidays.

On February 19th, we celebrated our 1 year House-A-Versary. On that date, I made the decision to take a little vacation from blogs and most online stuff. At the time, I didn't know the exact date when I'd be back. All I knew is that the Universe would let me know when I was ready. Today was the day.
