We Have Been Enjoying Our Weekends

 


Our Peonies are blooming. They are loving all of this rain. After a few days of rain, we are firing up the grill. Salmon. Steaks. For us. For our furry kids. Homemade macaroni and cheese. Homemade bread. Homemade brownies. Homemade berry ice cream. A garden salad. A fruit salad.

It's Too Early For Air Conditioners, But...

 

When I think back to a year ago, many things flood my brain. The first Spring in the house we bought that February. The COVID-19 pandemic. Our state shutting down. Making mask bands instead of items to sell. Empty grocery store shelves. Killer bees. Riots. The news being something I tried to avoid. I also remember the weather.

We Are Not Meant To Know All Of The Answers

 

One day last week, Lisa was getting ready for work. She swung her work dinner cooler bag over her shoulder. Grabbed her huge travel mug of iced coffee. The kids and I walked her to the entryway. Lisa handed me her iced coffee to hold while she put on her work shoes and tied them. Neither one of us was expecting the loud knock on the side door.
