We Are Celebrating Our 1 Year House-A-Versary

I posted this photo a year ago today. Less than an hour after we closed on our house. Yep. We were officially homeowners. I can't believe it's been a year already.

A Very Old Cutting Board Got A Makeover This Week...

My exceptionally talented brother made a cutting board in his Middle School days. Over 30 years ago. Back when metal and woodshop were mandatory classes in school.

Coco And Sophie Still Enjoy Pouncing And Chasing Each Other

We adopted Coco in 2012. Less than 2 years later, in 2014, we adopted Sophie. It took a couple of weeks for them to bond. But, it happened. They became inseparable.

Simple Can Be Delicious

Lisa and I are a little unconventional when it comes to celebrating certain holidays, birthdays, and our anniversary. For Christmas, we don't exchange gifts between the two of us. Instead, we surprise each other with "just because" gifts throughout the year. Another holiday we step out of the box for is Valentine's Day.

This Surprise Bouquet Of Homemade Valentine's Day Cookie Pops Made Our Day

Earlier today, Lisa and I were amid our typical weekend morning routine. I was in the home office. Lisa had already made and served breakfast to our kids. She was frying bacon when we heard a knock on our side door.

Happiness Is Homemade

Remember the DIY chalkboard wall that we made last weekend? The framed for the chalkboard was made from old pallet wood that Lisa got her hands on last Summer. She took it apart, cut it down to size, sanded it, and distressed the pieces after I painted them.

We Are Officially Done With The Interior Painting

This photo accompanied a blog column that I published on New Year's Eve. It was the day I cleared the bathroom and started priming the walls. The bathroom was not a room that we had planned on painting, however, despite decorating our bathroom and replacing the sliding glass shower door with a decorative shower curtain, the pale gray still made it look industrial.

Our Bodacious Framed Chalkboard Wall Is Finished

I don't usually post the "after" photo first, but in this case, I did. To back up a bit, back in November, we finished painting our hallway and entryway. For most of both areas, we had decor for the walls. That includes the DIY wall mounted coat rack that we hung up on Friday.

Our Neglected Coat Rack Finally Came To Life

A few days ago, I mentioned that I was finally going to give our neglected coat rack a makeover. It's been sitting in the Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Workshop for over a year. The original plan was to give it a makeover and offer it as an 'up for grabs" item.

Willa Is A Sneaky Lil' Girl

We added a second dog bed to our home office. They're up against the wall beside my desk. Most of the time, Lobo and Willa will nap there. Sophie will join them occasionally although she prefers the dining room dog bed or sofa. Coco loves to nap on our bed or the sofa. Most days, this is typically the scene.

We Are Going To Do A Thing This Weekend...

I am almost finished with tackling a makeover for a neglected shabby coat rack in the Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Workshop. I'm not one to work on a single thing at a time. So. There is something else happening. A fun project. A project that we will be working on over the weekend.

I Am Finally Giving This Neglected Coat Rack A Makeover

Back in December, I mentioned that we were going to spend the winter months working on pieces for our home. On the weekends, Lisa wanted to spend some time in her woodshop. I wanted to spend lots of time in my Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Workshop working my magic on the pieces she created or the large number of items that I want to give makeovers to.

Those Unexpected Surprises Always Surface When Needed The Most

During my unplanned social media cleanse, I received a super cool surprise in the mail from a very special friend. And, it totally included a dork moment on my part.

Mother Nature Is Pounding Us, But...

Mother Nature is currently pounding our area with a substantial nor'easter. The prediction is 8-14 inches of snow and 40-60 mph wind gusts. There is a possibility that at the end of the nor'easter, the precipitation could switch over to sleet and rain.
