Our Crazy Family

Yep. This is me. Lisa. A 40-something Work at Home Dog Mom. I author this blog. I'm a writer. Java junkie. Dog Biscuit Baker. Wine drinker. I wipe my mouth on the back of my sleeve. I eat my homemade dog treats. My swear jar could fund the Space Program. My wife and kids are my world. Life gets crazy around here, the housework is never-ending, and I'm in a continuous state of sleep deprivation, however, I wouldn't change a thing.

I'm married to this crazy lady. Her name is Lisa too. We've known each other for over 2 decades and tied the knot back in 2012. I'm a lucky girl to be sharing this thing called life with her. She's an incredible Dog Mom and one of the hardest workers I know. Her day doesn't end when she arrives home from work. She dives in to help with Dog Mom and household duties. She puts up with my warped sense of humor, writer's brain, dork moments, less-than-graceful moments, and still loves me at the end of the day.

Coco joined our family in August of 2012. He was in pretty rough shape. You can read about that here. He's a big love with a big personality. He took his brother and 2 sisters under his wing and he's incredible with them. Coco has an obsession with dirty socks. He likes to steal and hide them. He also likes to steal mozzarella sticks. His favorite toys are tennis balls and Nylabones. For the most part, he's a mellow boy, but on occasion, he gets the zoomies.

Our family expanded with Sweet lil' Sophie in June of 2014. This girl is a character! She's known for giving THE LOOK and licking the peanut butter off our food when we're not looking. Sophie is the oldest of all of our kids and has no qualms about keeping her brothers and sister in line. She loves to snuggle and makes this cute little baby dinosaur noise when we rub her back. Her favorite snacks are carrots, biscuits and....oh, who am I kidding!?!? She loves all food.

Lobo. Lobo. Lobo. He arrived at our home in January of 2015, as a foster, the day after surgery to remove his hind leg. You can read that story here. Two weeks later, we adopted him. Lobo is a special needs kid with balance and mobility issues. Despite his disabilities, he's a little spitfire and does his best to keep up with his brother and sisters. Lobo is the most photogenic out of the bunch and very vocal. His favorite toy is "Stinky" and he loves bananas.

Meet Olivia. This sweet lil' nugget of love joined our family in November of 2016. At the time, we had no experience in the world of Guinea Pig Momhood. In the days to follow, we dove in with the help of experienced Guinea Pig Moms, online resources, and our favorite staff member at Petco. Olivia is a bundle of joy with a big personality. She enjoys being held, spa days, and has no qualms letting us know when we accidently buy the wrong cucumbers or lettuce.

Willa is the newest addition to our family. We rescued and adopted her in March of 2017. She's feisty and mischevious. Willa has converted our new quilted comforter into a piece that resembles swiss cheese. And, she requires at least 218 games of fetch per day. But, she's a happy girl and loves being part of our family. Willa keeps us on our toes, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
