I Needed This Break For A Lot Of Reasons

On February 19th, we celebrated our 1 year House-A-Versary. On that date, I made the decision to take a little vacation from blogs and most online stuff. At the time, I didn't know the exact date when I'd be back. All I knew is that the Universe would let me know when I was ready. Today was the day. That moment consisted of capturing this photo of Willa enjoying the last bit of sunshine peeking through our home office window.

I needed this break for so many reasons. It lasted a little over a week. I learned a world of lessons during this time.

Some of that had to do with our special guest who spent most of the weekend with us. We haven't seen him in over 8 years.

Some of that had to do with our kids.

Some of that had to do with reflecting over the past year.

Some of that had to do with us adjusting to a new schedule that will be voluntarily permanent in the very near future.

Some of that had to do with realizing that I need to seriously work on putting the final touches on our bedroom. It's a room that we have already painted, but I've been neglecting it because it's one of the rooms that our occasional guests don't see.

Some of that had to do with our special guest's first words when he saw our new house for the first time.

"It's so homey! I love it."

Some of that had to do with letting go of my kitchen attitude of only saving time consuming stuff for the holidays.

More about that later.

Some of that had to do with realizing that it's almost been a year since COVID-19 'bout near shut our state down and affected everyone's life.

Some of that had to do with getting back on track with Bodacious DIY Dog Mom projects.

Some of that had to do with reconnecting with a special friend of ours and extending the most heartfelt apology because after what we went through with certain friends who called us family, we've sort of distanced ourselves a little too much.

Some of that had to do with the camera.

Another "more about that later" moment.

Some of that had to do with getting back on track with sharing all the recipes I've created over the past year for homemade dog treats.

The list goes on.

I needed this time.

We needed this time.

Long overdue.

I'll fill you in on some of the stuff in time.

Stay tuned...
