When Someone Is Out And About And They Think Of You When They See THAT Something

This blog column is going to be short, but hopefully meaningful. Because, when Lisa returned home from work today, I received a gift. Much needed. A reminder. To back up a bit, the past couple of weeks have been a little difficult. It's not the workload. It's people.

Right now, I don't want to talk about it.

I will.

Eventually.

But for now.

No.

Lisa arrived home from work today and pulled a gift out of her lunch pail accompanied by a note.

The gift and note is from a lady who I absolutely adore.

She is down to earth. A plethora of information. She adores old cookbooks. Has a big heart. Earthy. Loves my food. Generous. Funny. Our kids adore her.

While out and about today running errands, she spotted a gift that reminded her of me.

Baked goods and wine.

I needed this.

She made my day.

I missed her at our 7th annual Halloween party. At the time, she was on vacation and traveling.

So, we made plans to have her over the Saturday after Thanksgiving for a scrumptious feast.

Lisa and I are both looking forward to it.

I'm going to make Thanksgiving eggrolls.

Something I have wanted to make for the past couple of years, but haven't.

For the first time since 2011, Lisa has the Friday after Thanksgiving off.

It will be 4 days of pure Holiday bliss.

Opening our doors for those who have no place to go for Thanksgiving or who have fallen on hard times.

Decorating for the Christmas season indoors and outdoors.

Preparing food for someone who we adore and who loves our kids.

And, not giving a shit what other people think about that.
