I Am On A Mission And I'm Determined To Get It Done By End Of Day Friday

As a Work at Home Dog Mom, it's necessary that our home remains clutter-free. Organized. Clean. Efficient. Over the years, maintaining all of that has required quite a bit of effort. In order to maintain efficiency, we've had to make some changes within our home. It's been necessary. Our family has grown. We've shifted focus. Lisa's hours at work have increased. The work I do in the Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Project Workshop. Etc.

Over the past couple of months, a few of our rooms have become slightly disorganized and inefficient. It's been driving me nuts especially in the kitchen.

I have a hard time focusing and my creative energy shuts down when an area in our home is not organized and/or it's not efficient.

Hell, I even get distracted when there are dishes in the sink or dried coffee dribbles and crumbs on the counter.

At the beginning of the month, I was going to tackle the home office and workshop.  I could have gotten both rooms done in a single day. Unfortunately, a few small projects around the house took us longer than expected that weekend. This past weekend, a few things didn't go as planned and we celebrated Lisa's birthday on Sunday.

On Monday, Lisa's actual birthday, she woke up sick. Yesterday, she came home early from work and spent the rest of the day on the sofa with our kids.

Lisa took a sick day today and spent most of the day on the sofa resting.

I spent a good portion of the morning doing housework and baking homemade peach bread and muffins. The next thing on my daily list o' things to do was to bake homemade dog treats for our kids. Our supply in the freezer is getting a little low.

While waiting for the peach bread and muffins to bake, the proverbial lightbulb about my head made a crackly noise and then lit up the entire kitchen.

Today was the perfect day to begin working on the 3 rooms. I need to get them done. I didn't want to wait until the weekend. I have 2 tables in the workshop with "Up For Grabs" projects that need to be finished so I can get a head start on Fall and Holiday DIY Dog Mom Projects.

Lisa was on the sofa with the kids. The A/C was on. The TV was on. Lisa was sleeping sound. It takes a lot to wake her up when she's in a sound sleep.

Homemade dog treats for our kids could wait. They have plenty for the next few days. I had already prepped dinner for our kids, Lisa, and myself.

I began working on the Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Project Workshop and kitchen with gusto. Lisa didn't budge. I even ran the vacuum a few times.

I worked up until 4 p.m. I knew I wasn't going to get everything done. And, I didn't. But, I got a lot done and I'm satisfied with that.

After I woke Lisa up, she walked into the kitchen and was shocked.

"Damn, you got a lot of stuff done today. I didn't hear a thing."

She peeked into the workshop.

"Why didn't you ask for help when moving the shelf, table, and cart?"

"You're sick and you were sleeping."

"I would have helped had you waited."

"I know, but I didn't want to wait."

"You're going to feel it tomorrow."

"I know."

"You should wait until the weekend to do the rest so I can help you."

"Nope. You're resting this weekend too."

"You're not the boss of me."

I giggled.

"When you're sick like this, yes I am."

I gave her my best playful resting bitch face.

"Yes, Ma'am."

We jumped into our usual weeknight routine.

That included making a few changes to my schedule over the next couple of days because...

I'm determined to get all 3 rooms done by the end of the day on Friday.
