Valentine's Day is less than a week away. I have a love hate relationship with this particular holiday. I absolutely despise the commercialization. The pressure that retailers and marketers put on couples to spend big. The Couple's Dinner options at restaurants. The Valentine's Day dinner packages at local grocery stores. Overpriced roses. The redundant jewelry commercials. And, lets not forget the heart shaped boxes of chocolates and plush teddy bears.
If that's your thing, fine. Have at it. Enjoy.
In our Bodacious home, we keep it simple. Our Valentine's Day Dinner dates back to 2011. The simplicity of it all trickles down to our kids. I always bake them homemade heart-shaped treats to top off their special Valentine's Day dinner.
So far, their favorite Valentine's Day treat are these yummy Cranberry Crumble Valentine's Day Sandwich Cookies that I created a few years ago. Their other favorite is the Sweet Crunchy Love Hearts Dog Treats that I came up with right around the same time.
This year, since purchasing our Cuisinart Electric Meat Grinder, I'm determined to make our kids heart shaped peanut butter Bodacious Magic Meatballs.
Whether it's festive heart shaped sandwich cookies or something a little more on the savory side, your furry kids will appreciate the love you put into making them homemade treats.
The clock is ticking.
Bake! Bake! Bake!
