Here's The Recipe For My Scrumptious Cranberry Crumble Valentine's Day Sandwich Cookies

This year, once a week, I'm determined to create a new, homemade dog treat recipe. So far, I'm on schedule. People have written in with suggestions and a few have sent photos after they've made the treats. The amount of inspiration has been phenomenal. I've used fresh fruits and vegetables in some of the recipes and last week, I created a recipe for my first ever savory dog biscuit.

The inspiration for this week's new dog treat recipe is Valentine's Day. In the past, we've made hundreds of Bodacious Valentine's Day Biscuits by simply making our original Bodacious Biscuit Love Peanut Butter Dog Treats in the shape of hearts, giving 'em a drizzle of our swizzle, and a pinch of festive sprinkles. This time around, we wanted to do something different. A lot of people reached out asking for a peanut butter free Valentine's Day Dog Treat.

In a bowl or mixer, combine the following...

1 cup flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk (water will work too)
1/2 cup chopped dried cranberries
2 tsp brown sugar
1/4 cup oats
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking powder

Mix well. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour. If the dough is tight (dry), add more milk or water.

Ball up your dough for rolling. Make sure you flour the counter really well and sprinkle some flour on top of your dough when rolling.

Roll the dough a little thicker than you would a pie crust. These biscuits will rise when baking. Once rolled, use any cookie cutter you want. This dough can be rolled and cut as many times as needed.

I baked these at 350 for about 23-24 minutes. Your bake time will vary depending on your oven.

Once the biscuits are cooled, you're ready to make your sandwich cookie filling. It's very simple.

Melt 1 cup of white chips.

Spoon a little of the melted white chip mixture onto the underside of one cookie. Top with another.

Let the filling firm up a bit before serving.

If you want to make your Cranberry Crumble Valentine's Day Dog Cookies extra sweet, you can put a drizzle of swizzle on top along with some Valentine's Day sprinkles. All you have to do is melt additional white chips, put the melted white chips in Ziploc style bag, cut the tip off, drizzle, and add some festive sprinkles.

These Valentine's Day Bodacious Dog Treats are over the top delicious. We loved 'em. Our fur-kids loved 'em. They were head over paws. We don't allow them to have sugary stuff too often so this was a real treat for them.

Also, this recipe will make soft or hard biscuits. If you want them soft, store in an airtight container immediately after they're cooled. For a crunchy cookie, allow them to sit out for 24 - 36 hours.
