Rest And Recovery Day Three - I'm Sick And Tired Of Being Sick And Tired

If you're just joining in, last week I was hit with the nasty cold flu virus thing that's been going around. It has put a gigantic damper on getting most of Our Big Bodacious Painting Project done this week before Lisa's vacation. Lisa put her foot down and demanded that I rest up for a few days. I'm on day three and I feel the worst I have since this whole thing started because everything is coming up and out.

The coughing has been so bad that I've prayed to the porcelain goddess several times throughout the day. My body hurts. I had a meltdown or two earlier. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

It's obvious that Rest And Recovery will exceed the initial three days. Lisa has already put her foot down. Again. She has forbidden me from doing any painting this week. Our Big Bodacious Painting Project will commence this weekend if I'm feeling better.

If I'm not feeling better, we'll be spending the day in the emergency room.

Lisa is taking great care of me. She has completely stocked the refrigerator with good-for-you-when-you-are-sick beverages. Earlier this evening, she ran to the store for fruity ice cream. I was craving Cherry Garcia.

She was in the mood for ice cream too.

The kids haven't left my side much. I've been on the sofa most of the time. It's been entertaining to watch the four of them find their comfy spots on the sofa. Coco stretches out on the other armrest. Sophie curls up behind my knees. Lobo uses my feet as a pillow. Willa curls up with Coco and uses his bum as a pillow. If I have the leg rest out, they change positions.

Late this afternoon, we received an adorable rose plant and thank you card for hosting the graduation party on Saturday. There was a get well card in the mix too. That made me smile. A bright spot in my day.

On that note, I'm exhausted. The simple act of typing is draining what little energy I have left. It's time to rest.

Again...
