Custom Made Wedding Bandannas For Two Very Special Pup Kids

As a work at home Dog Mom, most of my socialization is done online. I've met a lot of cool people in the virtual world. I've had the opportunity to meet a few of these humans face to face, but for the most part, our relationship has evolved online. Two of these individuals are M and B.

I connected with M a few years ago when Lisa and I donated a Raffle Basket to a fundraiser event. I believe at the time, M was an animal control officer. I sent her a friend request. She accepted. In the years to follow, we chatted once in a while and, as of late, we've gotten closer as we share a lot of similar life experiences.

One of our common grounds is our love for animals. M and B are devoted pet parents to a multitude of animals, two of which are pups. I adore the photos M posts of their furry and feathered babies. And, her food porn makes me drool. It's quite obvious M loves to spend time in the kitchen whipping up homemade dinners and desserts.

Earlier this summer, M let me know that she and B had set a date for their wedding. And, that wasn't the only thing happening. They finally found a great place to call home. Less than three weeks before their wedding, they had another stressful thing to contend with. Moving.

For those who don't know, on July 12th of 2012, Lisa and I found the home we live in now. We didn't expect our realtor to find a place so soon because we had a lengthy list of criteria. But, she did and we grabbed it.

Our wedding was on July 28th of 2012. Between moving and preparing for our wedding, which was in New Hampshire, we had our hands more than full. It was stressful and overwhelming. The day after the wedding I couldn't wait to get home. Lisa and I both crashed. We were exhausted.

When M told me that she and B were moving so close to their wedding, I shared the experience Lisa and I had been through five years ago. Another common ground. I also volunteered to make special bandannas for their pup kids. They were going to be in the wedding.

I waited for M to send me a photo of the wedding collars and M's wedding dress. The color theme is blue. I have a lot of fabric in hues of blue, but nothing that matched their shade of blue.

Earlier this week, Lisa and I took an early evening trip to Walmart for a few things. I checked out their fabric. Nothing caught my attention. The next aisle over had fat quarters.

I love fat quarters.

That's when I spotted it. A gorgeous printed fabric with the perfect shades of blue. I grabbed two fat quarters in this print and then shopped around for a little bling for the bandannas. I didn't want to go overboard, but I also didn't want the wedding bandannas to be too plain. I found a couple of simple bows and some 3D paw print appliques.

I finished up the wedding bandannas today. M and B saw the photo I posted. They loved 'em! Big. Huge. Smile.

It was truly an honor to make these for their pup kids. I can't wait to see photos of their wedding and of their pup kids wearing their custom made wedding bandannas.

Yep. Stuff like this makes me happy.
