I posted this photo back in September of 2020 on my personal Facebook wall. At the time, I was desperate for an all-natural, pet-friendly bug killer because I hate nuisance bugs. As in, the ones that exist for the sole purpose of simply being an asshole. The ones that fly, sting, or stink. Occasionally, they get on our screened-in back porch or in the house.
I was sick and tired of cleaning bug guts off our windows, walls, and screens when using a swatter was necessary. I didn't want to use chemical killers. I did a little research. Long story short, white vinegar and blue Dawn dish soap combined is magical!
Trust. Me. On. This.
It kills flies, wasps (and any of the stinging insects within that family unit), stink bugs, moths, etc. We have a big spray bottle on our back porch and a smaller spray bottle for inside our house.
No more bug guts. No more fly swatters. No more chasing around a fly with my flip flop. A few spritzes on the bug and...
Goodbye.
Grab a spray bottle and add 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of blue Dawn dish soap, and 3 cups of white vinegar. Give it a lil' shakie shake.
You don't have to use the exact measurements. Just make sure it's mostly white vinegar, a generous squeeze of blue Dawn dish soap, and a splash of water.
I'm fairly certain you don't even need to add water.
Spray directly onto the bug that is about to meet its demise.
This is the only bug killer you will ever need.
Scrap the store-bought.
You're welcome.
