Our Big Bodacious Painting Project is becoming a serious reality. Today was the day. After visiting our favorite local orchard, we headed to Lowe's for paint and supplies. I can't even begin to tell you how incredible it felt to pick out colors for our house. Our home.
We turned this morning's adventure into a little date. Due to COVID-19, Lisa and I haven't gone on a date since July.
Our first stop was the orchard for squash, apples, and cider. They were out of 1/2 gallons of cider, but we got a big bag of apples and over 20 pounds of various squash.
After loading everything into our vehicle, we went back for hot sugared cider doughnuts and a cider slushy.
Total. Yummy. Bliss.
Then, it was off to Lowe's.
The first 2 rooms that I'm tackling this week is the dining room, home office, and the trim for both rooms and doors. We knew what colors we wanted, but the big decision was the exact shade.
We stood there at the paint swatch displays.
I'm fairly certain that we each had that moment at the same time.
That moment of, "We're picking out colors for rooms in our house. Our home."
That's serious business right there.
After 20 minutes or so, we picked out the shade for the dining room and home office that we both loved. Then, the shade for trim and doors.
While waiting for associates to mix our paint, we picked up some painting supplies and other stuff we needed.
We picked up our paint and headed to the checkout.
The shades of paint are gorgeous.
We did a little fist pump and said, "This is it..."
Yeah, because this is it.
It is happening.
Tomorrow.
Yeah.
