Welcome To The Family, Lil' Red

The KitchenAid Professional 600 Stand Mixer that had been gifted to me by a dear friend for my 40th birthday died yesterday. You can read about that here. I was devastated. Lisa told me to shop around for another one, but I was convinced we'd be able to fix the old one. Sadly, as I researched parts and the costs to repair, that didn't exactly happen.

Long story short, between the cost of parts and small appliance repairs, purchasing a new one was the wiser choice.

While shopping around for a new KitchenAid Stand Mixer, I took a few things into consideration...

1. I no longer needed a gigantic professional model.

2. I had never been keen on the lift model.

3. I did not want a glass bowl.

4. I did not want a white or gray KitchenAid Mixer.

It took about an hour to find exactly what I wanted.

Not only was it available for same-day store pickup, but it was on sale for $100 off.

Score!

Lisa ventured out and picked up our new KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer in red.

The first thing she said after taking it out of the box was, "It's so small!"

I had to explain that it appeared small because the old one was a professional 600. We didn't need a big one like that now.

I adore the new stand mixer.

It's shiny and red and vibrant and an extra attachment was included.

In a lot of ways, the old mixer retiring and purchasing a new smaller model that fits our needs was rather symbolic.

That is a whole other blog column that I will save for a rainy day.

For now, it's time to give Lil' Red a test run.
