The Tribulations Of Moving....

I started packing today. It was time. We have a tentative closing date, but we are trying to get that pushed up because the sellers are moving out of state the first weekend of February. We don't want our new house to be vacant between their move and the closing date.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can catch up here.

I didn't think that packing up our home would bother me so much, but it has.

It goes miles beyond my dislike for packing and moving.

We decided that our home office would be ground zero so that is the first room I packed.

As I packed items and took everything off the wall, I reflected back to May of 2018 when Lisa took a week off and we spent that week painting our entire home.

Our Big Bodacious Paining Project.

I reflected back even further to when that room was our bedroom.

So many memories.

We have lived here for almost 8 years.

I know that as I make my way through each room to pack the non-essentials, there will be many moments of reflection.

Maybe a few tears.

What keeps playing over and over in my brain is that this is the only home our kids have known.

We adopted Coco in 2012. The same year we moved into our home.

Sophie, Lobo, and Willa were adopted in the years later.

This is going to be a big change for them.

And, throughout this move, THIS is our number one priority.

Once we bring our kids to our new home...

We will not be leaving them home alone for a while.

Lisa and I already came to the conclusion that if we wanted a date night, it would need to happen before we permanently move into our new house.

That. Is. All.
