The Graduation Party Was A Success. Now, Goodnight.

The graduation party was a total success. I can't take full credit for this one. I've been sick since Wednesday night. Had it not been for the assistance of a couple of neighbor friends and Lisa, I don't think I could have pulled this off. I know I couldn't have pulled it off. I am so grateful for them.

More than I could ever express.

Today, I have no energy. My fever is back. Walking from the living room to the bathroom takes every ounce of my being to accomplish. Standing upright for more than 5 minutes is enough to drain what little energy I have. I have been dozing on and off for most of the day. The kids haven't' left my side for more than a few minutes.

Lisa has handled all of the cleanup duties.

I'm stressing because tomorrow I was supposed to start Our Big Bodacious Painting Project. I wanted to get most of it done before Lisa went on vacation.

I'm not ashamed to admit I cried because I know that's not going to happen tomorrow or probably the next day.

Lisa, once again, has put her foot down.

She wants me to take another day or two to rest.

I'm stubborn. She's stubborn.

I reply to the putting-her-foot-down moments with LOOKS.

She's more stubborn than I am. With her chest puffed out. Her arms folded. That stern look on her face.

"You prepped for and hosted a successful graduation party that everyone raved about WHILE sick and with a fever. You went worlds beyond above and beyond. Now, you're going to rest for a couple of days to kick this cold flu virus to the curb. I don't care if we're conquering Our Big Bodacious Painting Project beyond the Wednesday of my vacation. What matters is that you heal, rest, and get better."

Sigh.

*pulls throw blankets over my head and falls asleep*
