It's Time To Bake Some Homemade Valentine's Day Dog Treats

Lisa and I are not huge fans of Valentine's Day. Like Christmas, it's a holiday that has become obnoxiously commercialized. Retailers, florists, restaurants, and chocolate shops want us all convinced that the perfect bouquet of long-stemmed roses and a pricey romantic dinner is quintessential to celebrating Valentine's Day. In our Bodacious world, it's not. We lean more towards unconventional. Lisa and I fix a simple dinner at home. This year, the kids made Lisa a photo collage. The kids presented me with all the fixings for my favorite cocktail. While the dinner we make and the small gifts from the kids change year to year, there's one thing that doesn't change.

Every year, I make the kids their favorite homemade heart-shaped dog treats. What that translates to is making a non-savory homemade dog treat and drizzling it with my white chocolate peanut butter concoction. I only put the drizzle on their treats for special occasions. They love it.

In addition to the white chocolate peanut butter drizzle, I decorate the homemade dog treats with festive sprinkles.

Making homemade Valentine's Day treats for your furry kid is super easy and the ingredients are simple. You probably already have most of the ingredients on hand.

If you have heart-shaped cookie cutters, great. If not, you can cut out heart shapes with a knife after rolling the dough. Or, you could simply roll the dough into tiny balls and press them into patties. Then, decorate them.

Your furry kids won't care if they're heart-shaped or not.

What are you waiting for? Valentine's Day is tomorrow! I've made it easy for you with links to all of our homemade dog treat recipes below...
