Happy 2 Year Gotcha Day to our squishy cream puff, Lobo! Two years ago, this lil' nugget of love arrived at our home...as a foster! The universe did a little shimmy shake. Fate stepped in. He chose us. Like with all of our rescue fur-kids, our life changed the moment he joined our family. It was meant to be.
Tonight, our babies will be feasting on Lobo's dinner of choice. Steak. Shrimp. Sweet potatoes. Diced cucumbers. And, for dessert, homemade Apple Cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting.
Usually, when our babies celebrate a Gotcha Day, the cupcakes are shared with many. We distribute a lot to our neighbor friends.
However, this time around, and after a heartfelt chat with Lobo, we're donating most of the cupcakes, and a biscuit love care package tomorrow, to a very special pup who's terminally ill. Sophie and Coco concur with this decision.

At the last minute, Lobo decided he didn't want the traditional Gotcha Day Hat I usually make. Instead, he wanted a custom made, pompom crocheted hat.
Sure. No problem. Let me type a blog post and crochet a doggy hat at the same time.
This is the best pompom crochet hat I could whip up for Lobo's last minute Gotcha Day request. I only had 2 colors to work with and it's been years since I've made a crochet hat.
Lobo loved it! He wore it long enough to show is brother and sister and for me to snap a photo. I'm seriously considering making pom pom hats for all of our kids.
