The Soon-To-Be Big Blue Beast Is On Our Kitchen Table

This was the scene moments ago. It's already bothering me. I work at home. I like a clean, organized environment at all times. Having a beast of a trunk on the table, and knowing it'll be there for a couple of days, will wreck havoc on my sense of balance. I can already feel it. It's brewing. However, it's all for a good cause. Inhale. Exhale slowly.

A couple of years ago, a neighbor friend of ours gave us this storage trunk. Since then, it's been in the biscuit room. The baskets people have donated for our Bodacious Raffle Baskets and, soon to be, holiday pet baskets for families in need, have sat on the top. The inside of the trunk was used for seasonal Bodacious Biscuit Love stuff.

In the process of making some recent Bodacious Biscuit Love changes, we were trying to figure out what we were going to use for a Bodacious Biscuit Love Bin, It needed to be fairly large, sturdy, have a cover to protect the contents from the elements, and have some decorative qualities because it would be sitting on our porch during the days and hours we'd be offering homemade dog treats and pet food and supplies to needy families in our community.

I wanted it to look welcoming and radiate effort.

A storage tote, which we had brought up several times, didn't give us the warm, welcome feel.

One day, not too long ago, while vacuuming the biscuit room, the proverbial light bulb went off.

Storage. Trunk.

I stopped vacuuming and fixated on the storage trunk.

Yes.

It would work and fit all the criteria.

A few days ago, we purchased the paint.

Before Lisa went to bed tonight, she covered the table with newspaper, took the cover of the trunk off, and put the trunk on the table. She got me all set up to start the process of painting.

That's what I'll be doing tonight.

I'm guessing it'll take 2-3 coats of paint.

We didn't splurge on the one-coat premium paint at Home Depot.

Instead, we opted for Glidden paint at Walmart.

Much cheaper.

I'm all in favor of putting in a bit more effort to save a few bucks.

It's all good.

I'm honestly not looking forward to this. It's going to take about 2 days to finish it.

The. Big. Blue. Beast.

On our table.

I've got this.
