You Wait For That Moment. And, It Finally Happens.
Over the years, as our family has gotten bigger, with each addition, there's always been an adjustment period. It typically lasts between a month or two. Willa joined our family a month and a half ago. It hasn't been easy for a few reasons, but I knew, at some point, that pivotal moment would surface. The one that made my face soggy with tears.

Sometimes, I Forget To Do This More Often
My Mom ran a professional in-home Day Care/Preschool for over 20 years. She also has her bachelors degree in Early Childhood Development. Throughout her Day Care/Preschool and college adventures, I learned quite a bit. So much, that I was hired as a lead preschool teacher in my early 30's. One of the biggest lessons I embedded in my brain, early on, and one I've carried with me throughout the years, was the rule of height.

As Dog Moms, This Is One Of The Most Beautiful Things To Witness
We adopted Coco in August of 2012. Sophie joined our family in June of 2014. Introducing the 2 of them was a little challenging. Coco had been the only child for almost 2 years. Sophie doesn't do too well with pups who are bigger than she is. The transition from "I'm not too sure about you" to being completely inseparable took about 2 weeks.

We Enjoy The Extra Time With Our Fur-Nieces And Fur-Nephews
We're at the beginning of a 3 1/2 week stretch of pup and house sitting for several of our neighbor friends. It's a lot of work. For the duration, we have to adjust our schedules. We take turns spending an hour or two at the homes of our neighbor friends. It's worth it for so many reasons.

A Fenced In Yard Is Not Foolproof. Protect Your Babies.
The warm weather months are upon us. This week, we're supposed to have a few days that'll soar into the 70's. Rumor has it that by Saturday, it'll be even warmer. With the warmer temperatures, there's always an increase in the Facebook posts I try to avoid at all costs. The ones from dog parents who continuously allow their pups to be outside, by themselves, for extended periods of time.

Real Maple Syrup. Wine. Fried Clams. It Was A Great Day.
Lisa had a work event to attend today. A banquet. Food. Drink. Door prizes. An afternoon of fun. I was almost able to go, but today begins our long 3 1/2 week-long stretch of pup and house sitting for several of our neighbor friends. The banquet was held out of state, in Rhode Island, almost an hour away. It's too far away and we would have been gone too long. So, I stayed home.

Aside From The Kitchen, Our Home Office Is The Heartbeat Of Our Home
When we first moved here, almost 5 years ago, the home office was set up where it's located now. In the front room. The largest of all 3 bedrooms. My large desk was close to the windows. Lisa's desk was on the other side of the office. The only other piece of furniture we had in the room was a gigantic book shelf that we filled with knickknacks and treasures.
