My Favorite Week Out Of The Year Is Here.

It's Christmas week. My favorite week out of the year. In years prior, it was the week where I could focus on baking for a few days, putting our gourmet gift baskets together for our neighbors who had become friends and family to us, baking for Lisa's department at work, and making platters for various other people.

This year, it's a whole lot different...

Some of it has to do with COVID-19

Some of it has nothing to do with COVID-19

Yes, I'm keeping it short, sweet, and simple.

For now.

This is still my favorite week of the year.

I will be spending an entire day baking and putting together some spectacular platters.

I am excited because it's a short week for Lisa. It's a 4 day weekend for her.

I'm looking forward to our first Christmas in the house we bought in February, our annual Christmas Eve appetizers and Christmas dinner, spreading a little Christmas love and cheer, and enjoying a quiet and peaceful mini-staycation with Lisa and our kids.

As I sit here typing this, I'm in awe at how quickly this year has flown by. Still shocked by the whole COVID-19 pandemic and how much it has altered life in general. And, I'm not even going to mention everything else that's going on in the world.

But, for today, we are safe and warm and healthy.

And we are going to embrace our blessings and spread as much Christmas love and cheer as we can during these trying times.
