My Bodacious Chopsticks Adventures Will Begin Shortly

The other day I mentioned that I will be eating with only chopsticks for an entire year. No forks or spoons. Yeah. It sounds a bit crazy, but it's not the first time I've done this.

In 2012, I did the same thing. It didn't matter if I ate a meal at a restaurant or at the home of friends and family. I ate my meal with chopsticks.

Why did I eat with only chopsticks for an entire year? Well, you can read about that here. It's not a long read. I promise.

Was it challenging?

Yes.

Did I get frustrated at times?

Absolutely.

Was it fun?

Oh yeah.

When I ate with chopsticks for the entire year of 2012, I had a blog called 'Fhee's Chopsticks." I took photos of almost everything I ate. I posted photos and blog columns almost daily.

I even had small business-sized cards made up because people often inquired about my use of chopsticks at a restaurant. I gave those with inquiring minds a short explanation and gave them a card. The card had a link to my blog.

I took the blog down in 2013.

This time around, I'm not going to have a blog. I'll post photos on this blog because it's part of Our Bodacious Dog Mom Life. I will also post photos on my social media streams.

I'm not going to have cards printed up because we're still amid the COVID-19 pandemic. We probably won't be dining out this year.

The last time we ate at a restaurant was in February of 2020. The weekend before we closed on our house. At our favorite breakfast place.

I can't remember the last time someone has invited us over for a meal.

After I posted on my personal Facebook page that I was going to commit to using chopsticks for an entire year (again), a few people reached out. They remembered my chopsticks adventure from 2012.

A few asked why I was doing this again.

I don't have a long-winded explanation.

I simply just want to.

I love eating with chopsticks.

It challenges me.

I am more mindful of what I'm eating.

I eat slower.

I enjoy it.

It's a conversation starter because people are often intrigued.

I often hear comical stories about people trying them for the first time.

I share my beginner stories too.

Upon request, I teach people how to use chopsticks.

So.

I want to do it again.

And that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Stay tuned for lots of Bodacious Chopsticks Adventures...
