A Young Man Restored Our Faith Last Night

Lisa left work last night a little after 7 p.m. We were getting blasted with a massive rain and wind storm. She called after pulling out of the parking lot. The low tire pressure light came on. Rear driver's side. The pressure was down less than 10%.

Thankfully, Lisa's commute from work to home is right around 7 minutes. Between Point A and Point B, there is a gas station/convenience store with an adjoining autobody shop. Lisa knows the owner.

She pulled into the parking lot but the autobody portion was closed. The gas station/convenience store was open. Lisa asked if they had Fix-A-Flat.

The young man behind the counter didn't hesitate. Not only did he grab it from the shelf, but he also went outside and assisted Lisa. The Fix-A-Flat worked. It wasn't great, but it would get her home.

Both Lisa and the young man were soaked head to toe.

After many thanks and Lisa offering to buy the young man a snack and drink, she drove home.

This morning, Lisa called the autobody shop. She was able to get in at 9:30 a.m. We weren't sure if we'd need a new tire or if it would be a quick fix.

After taking the tire off the rim, the owner immediately found the issue. Yep. This. A tiny piece of bent metal.

It ended up being a quick fix.

Lisa put in a lot of good words to the owner about the young man who had worked the night before.

We were grateful all the way around, especially to the young man who went above and beyond.

He didn't have to leave the warm and dry confines of the gas station/convenience store. He could have simply completed the transaction and bid Lisa a good evening.

Instead.

The young man took care of everything despite the inclement weather.

In this day and age, you don't see much of that with the young adult generation.

Our faith was restored this evening.
