Painting Our Dining Room Inspired Us To Step Out Of The Box With Darker Shades

Our home office is finally done! I spent a few hours focusing on final touches yesterday. That got done. I wanted to put our home office back together by the time Lisa got home, but I had to tend to an unexpected happening. Named Lennie. You can read about that here

At the end of the day, it was a happy ending. And, since we have eliminated all deadlines with our Big Bodacious Painting Project, all is good.

The above photo is the photo of one end of our home office.

Here is another before photo.

The color of the walls was off white.

We happen to love darker, primitive colors.

So, this happened.

And, this.

The trim is a rich shade of Tea Light.

The walls are a deep shade of Florentine Clay.

Since painting our dining room, we are in love with rich and darker shades of COLOR!

The dining room inspired us to step out of the box.

People are always saying, "Paint smaller rooms a light color to open it up..."

Not necessarily so...

Light, neutral colors are boring.

Dark colors that are rich and primitive are warm and inviting and cozy.

After adhering with this mind frame for the dining room and home office, it has completely inspired us for the colors we choose for the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, hallway, entryway, and closet doors.

And, it has completely ramped up our excitement for making the inside of our home colorful and warm, and inviting.

I'll keep you posted on our progress.

Stay tuned...
