We Are So Grateful To Have Kind Neighbors

One of the big concerns about buying a house is the neighbors. After all, those are the people who will be in close proximity. In 2012, when we moved into our old home, we were very fortunate. A couple of our neighbors introduced themselves immediately. Over the years, we became close friends with a lot of our neighbors, had a lot of great times, and made many memories.

In February when we bought and moved into our new house, we were sad to leave our neighborhood but happy to begin a new chapter in our life. The old owners of our house told us that we had great neighbors and there was no need to worry.

Between moving day and our House Warming party, we'd see our neighbors out and about. Wave. Say hello. However, it wasn't until our House Warming party that we officially met them. They attended our party and welcomed us to the neighborhood. Since then, when we're outside, they'll chat with us or wave if they're in their vehicle.

Today, I was expecting a delivery during the day while Lisa was at work. I knew it would be a big box. I checked the UPS tracking information periodically. Packages always get delivered to our front door and I don't like boxes sitting out there for too long.

Usually, if a package is delivered, the delivery person rings the doorbell to let me know.

I heard the doorbell ring.

Went to the front door.

There was no one there.

Then, I heard a knock at the side door.

I checked.

One of our neighbors was standing there.

In the rain.

The box was huge.

"I noticed a box at your front door and it's raining. I didn't want it getting wet."

He carried it into the entryway for me.

I thanked him several times before he left.

It's the little things.

Like this.
