A Mysterious Wine Fairy Visited Us

I am continuously getting invites to join this group or that group on Facebook whether it's Pampered Chef Parties or Sip and Sparkle or...whatever. I've joined a scarce few over the years. I stay away from the rest. But. This week I was invited to a local group by a couple of friends. It's a women's only group who are spreading love and cheer in the form of wine fairies. In Windham County. Where we live.

I caved and joined because, well...wine.

But, that wasn't the only reason. I read about the group and my first thought was this is a really great idea. We have all been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Lisa and I have been spreading love and cheer and sweet treats and beyond for weeks amid the pandemic. We see the smiles and we know that people really, really appreciate it.

Less than 24 hours after joining, we were wined by someone in our immediate community who we don't know. We were both surprised. A little speechless.

The contents of our wine basket included fruit, wine, boozy nips, breakfast items, snacks, bottled iced coffee, and other treats.

Did I mention we did not know the sweet woman who gifted this to us?

After I tucked Lisa and our kids into bed, I thought about this gift for a really, really long time.

It came at just the right moment.

This past week I've been feeling run down and a little on empty. Not all of that is attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sure, like everyone else, the past couple of months have been stressful and we've experienced things that very few of us have in a lifetime because of this pandemic.

You can read about that here.

Aside from that, since buying a house in February and moving from the neighborhood we lived in for almost 8 years, we have learned quite a bit.

Who is still in our little tribe.

Who is no longer in our tribe.

Who has defended us.

Who has not.

Who only kept us close over the years because of their need for us and/or the services we provided.

Who cherished our friendship unconditionally.

I have also been struggling with my career and what direction I should move toward.

Lots of stuff.

It has all hit me over the past couple of weeks.

So.

This basket came at just the right time.

I'll be reaching out tomorrow to the sweet lady who delivered it to personally thank her.

And, we'll be making a gorgeous wine basket to deliver to someone who may need a little bit of love and cheer.

Stay tuned...
