I Gave This Gorgeous Table A Makeover

A few weekends ago, Lisa and I went to a community yard sale. It was huge. People were selling baked goods, handcrafted items, and a lot of yard sale stuff. Our mission was to find items that I could give a makeover to or repurpose. We left with a bunch of baked goods and...this table.

I cleaned the table and sanded a few areas. I took the hardware off the drawer. Coated the entire table with a generous coat of Kilz. I decided to go with Peaceful Blue for the color. I cleaned up the hardware and painted that a dark gray.

After I painted the table with the high quality, satin paint, it sat for a couple of days. I could not decide what to put for a design on top. Originally, I was going to make a rustic looking table runner with appliqued primitive hearts. However, the fabric didn't go well with the color.

Had I distressed the table, the table runner would have been the perfect match.

I decided to do a simple design of handpainted flowers and ivy. I didn't want the top of the table to be too crowded with flowers and ivy so I just did the top.

This is the finished piece. I'm head over heels in love with this piece. I posted it on my Facebook wall as an "up for grabs" item.

I still need to create a Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Project Facebook page.

I hope the table finds a good home. It's a gorgeous piece. Solid wood. I love how the table is built and the accents.

I've got 4 slat style signs that Lisa made in her woodshop that I'll be finishing up and posting today as well.

The last item that I'll be posting this week is a really cool wall shelf. That piece is almost finished.

The next items in line...

I'm. Not. Telling. Just. Yet.
