I Won't Be Trying Out For American Idol Or America's Got Talent Anytime Soon

Lisa and I both love music. When the music is on, we sing. We've had lots of moments where we scoop one of the kids up and dance with them while singing. They've all gotten used to it. I'd like to say they love those moments, but their look is usually that of a cat's glare when you pet them in the wrong spot.

Over the past year, I have greatly decreased the amount of time I play my music throughout the day. It used to be everyday, but now it's only 2-3 times a month. But, that doesn't mean I don't walk around singing a few lines from some of my favorite songs when the mood strikes.

The mood struck today.

All of the kids were on the sofa taking their afternoon nap.

That doesn't happen often.

During that time, I watered the plants and flowers we have on our front porch. I made about 10 trips using the big plastic pitcher we have.

On the last trip in, the kids were looking at me.

All. Of. Them.

I immediately started dancing and singing the chorus to 'Baby Love' by Regina.

It's an 80's thing.

Coco immediately buried himself under one of the throw blankets.

Sophie ran for cover in the Doggy Nappy Nook.

Willa escaped to our bedroom to find a comfy spot on the bed.

Lobo hid behind the sofa and peeked out.

Sigh.

I guess I won't be trying out for American Idol or America's Got Talent anytime soon.
