When You Have A Day That Feels Almost Perfect...

Lisa took a couple of vacation days before the weekend. Today has been absolutely incredible. We slept in until 6:30. Enjoyed our morning coffee together with the kids while chatting. I caught up on some desk work and housework. All of our kids were groomed and got bubble baths. I tackled some of the items on my Work At Home Dog Mom Honey Do List. After Lisa ate lunch, she spent a few hours outside mowing the lawns and other yardwork. During that time, 3 great things happened...

The first...

We saw 2 hummingbirds at the feeders on our front lawn. We put the hummingbird feeders out last weekend. Everything seems to be early this year. The foliage. Flowers. Thick green grass.

I've been checking out the Hummingbird Migration Map and the hummingbirds are even here a bit earlier than previous years. This is the earliest we've seen them at our feeders.

We usually see our first hummingbirds the first week of May.

The second...

Year after year during the Spring months, Lisa mentions getting a decorative flag for the front of the house. Last weekend while at Home Depot and Agway, Lisa looked at the flags.

The other day, the kids and I ordered a flag, pole, and the mounting hardware to surprise Lisa with.

It arrived today.

We are both in love with our new decorative pawprint welcome flag.

The third...

Lisa asked me out on a dinner date.

For us, that's kind of a big deal because it's not often we get to leave our home together to enjoy some us time. And, especially because it was the second time this week.

We decided on Hank's Dairy Bar again. They only have outdoor seating. It was a little chilly, but we enjoyed sharing scallops, clam strips, French fries, and onion rings. We ran a couple of errands afterward.

Once home, we put everything away and settled in for some family snuggle time.

We both needed today. Our kids needed today.

No schedule. Everything was done at our own pace. Lots of sun and light and tranquility.

Tomorrow is another vacation day for Lisa. We're both looking forward to it and for dinner, we're sharing our table with a very special guest.
