Yes, We Celebrate Mother's Day

If I received a dollar every time someone asked either Lisa or myself, "Do you 2 celebrate Mother's Day," we would probably have enough money for a mini shopping spree at Lowe's or Home Depot. Or, I could go a little crazy buying books from Amazon.

Our answers are typically same.

"Of course we celebrate Mother's Day! Why wouldn't we? We are real Moms. We are proud to be Dog Moms."

A myriad of questions usually follows...

"Are you escaping for the weekend?"

"Are you going to treat yourself to a day away from the house and kids?"

"What are you buying for Lisa?"

"Are you going to make dinner reservations at a restaurant?"

Etc..

Being in the online deal, coupon, and marketing world for over a decade, I know just about every retailer out there has some marketing promotion going on for Mother's Day. From spa package deals and flowers and chocolates to Mom themed jewelry and apparel...there's a sale or deal on just about everything.

There are a lot of Moms out there who desire an escape to a spa or a weekend away to relax and rejuvenate.

Or, they may want the traditional flowers and chocolates or a pretty necklace.

To each their own. Mother's Day is a personal day and it's special and each Mom is unique in how they'd like to be celebrated and honored.

None of the conventional stuff appeals to Lisa or myself.

Lisa works a ton of hours Monday through Friday. During that time, she barely gets to spend any time with the kids. She makes up for that on the weekends.

I'm a Work At Home Dog Mom. I'm with the kids pretty much 24/7.

It's fair to say that we're on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of the amount of time we're around our kids.

The thought of leaving for the day or weekend to celebrate Mother's Day doesn't even cross our minds.

It's Mother's Day. We want to spend the day with our kids. Celebrating. Having fun.

That's exactly what we do.

I surprise Lisa with a gift from the kids. Lisa does the same for me. We plan a special dinner that's cooked on the grill. I make a side dish and dessert. We share all of the pup friendly food with our kids. There is lots of extra playtime and family snuggle time.

Yep.

There you have it.

Our Dog Mom Mother's Day.

We wouldn't change a thing.
