This Just Because Gift Rendered Me Speechless

Lisa and I are a bit unconventional when it comes to gift giving. We don't exchange gifts for Christmas or buy each other gifts for special occasions. Instead, throughout the year, we give each other "just because" gifts. This year, Lisa decided to make and give a "just because" gift a week before my Birthday.

Last week, I posted a photo of a wine advent calendar on my personal Facebook page. Lisa isn't a fan of Facebook. She has an account but very seldom utilizes it. But, she does scope my personal Facebook page every now and then.

She saw the post about the wine advent calendar.

Earlier today, after finishing up what I needed her to do in the woodshop, she informed me that she was working on a piece, but it was a surprise.

I didn't ask questions.

About 2 hours later, she sent a text. I was in the workshop. Lisa told me that she was bringing something upstairs that she wanted me to see.

Okay.

I sat at the kitchen table and waited.

Lisa told me to close my eyes.

Okay.

I did.

When I opened my eyes she presented me with THIS!

A wine advent calendar fully stocked with mini bottles of wine.

My eyes widened. My mouth dropped to the floor.

It takes a lot to render me speechless.

"This is from me and the kids. For all that you do for us. We just want to say thank you."

I got a bit choked up.

In the 20+ years that I've known Lisa, this is quite possibly one of the best "just because" gifts she has ever presented me with.

I'm still speechless...
