It's Serious Business Sharing Homemade Pumpkin Muffins With The Kids

A month ago, I published a blog column explaining why I was done with the Summer season. For those who know me well, this came as a surprise. Prior to this year, I was always hell bent on not rushing the Summer season to be over and done with. I had a strict policy. No pumpkin spiced anything allowed in the house before the first official day of Fall. No pumpkins. No Fall decorations. No mention of dried corn stalks. No talk about how we were going to decorate the outdoors for Fall. No apple anything.

This year, that all changed.

I've already had pumpkin spiced coffee. Yesterday, I baked another batch of pumpkin muffins. Earlier in the week, I made 10 doggy themed wood pumpkins that sold out yesterday. I stopped watering the summer flowers on our porch. We've already let our neighbor friend know that he can dump all of his dried corn stalks in our backyard. I've planned how we're going to decorate. We've already planned our 3rd annual Halloween party and extended invitations. Tomorrow, I'm going to start working on 2 seasonal Bodacious Patchwork Doggy Quilts to sell early next week.

Yes, this has all happened before the official start of the Fall season.

This morning, I had the pleasure of sitting on the sofa, drinking coffee while Lisa shared my homemade, pup friendly pumpkin muffins with the kids. They love pumpkin just as much as we do.

If you'd like the recipe for those, it's right here. The recipe highlights pumpkin bread, but you can use the batter and make muffins instead.

My Saturday morning bliss.

It was our calm before a very busy afternoon.

Cheers to celebrating and enjoying the Fall season a little early this year!
