We Are Having A Yard Sale, But It's Not A Bodacious Yard & Bake Sale

In October of 2015, after hosting our Fall Bodacious Yard And Bake Sale, we made the decision that would be the last one. Aside from the weeks of work required to put on this event, it was too stressful on our kids. At the time, we only had 3 kids. Now, we have 4. We even pulled away from participating in events. Last year, in addition to not hosting our yard and bake sale, we didn't participate any event except for Whiskers In Wonderland in December.

Throughout this time, another thing was happening. We expanded. Instead of offering just biscuit love, we started handcrafting DIY Dog Mom Projects and making Bodacious Patchwork Doggy Quilts.

We realized that more space was needed to make DIY Dog Mom Projects. I'm referring to the stuff Lisa takes care of. Sawing. Sanding. Power tools. Putting stuff together.

In the basement, there's an old wood shop of sorts in the corner. Lisa has expressed a lot of interest in fixing it up and restoring it to a usable work area.

I'm guessing the work bench was built the same time the house was built. Our neighborhood husband, Bob, offered to help restore the bench.

The only thing standing in the way of that is all the shit we have in the basement. Granted, we've eliminated a lot of it over the years, but we still have too much stuff.

So, today we decided to host a small yard sale. On June 24th. That's less than 2 weeks away, but we're determined. We need to clear the basement for Lisa's workshop. In addition, I also need to Spring Clean. We've got too much stuff cluttering the cupboards and closets in the main living areas.

That stuff has been sitting there for a long time. Unused.

It's not going to be a Bodacious Yard and Bake Sale. We're going to put up a canopy and sell biscuits and a few DIY Dog Mom Projects, along with yard sale items, but no baked goods. We're also not doing raffles or giveaway and we're not accepting yard sale donation items in the days ahead.

The biggest thing is it's going to all be dependent on the weather. If there's a chance of rain, or the day before is going to be a rainy day, we're rescheduling. There's too much work involved with hosting a yard sale to chance being rained out.

As always, I'll keep you posted.
