These Cheesy Sweet Potato Biscuits Almost Made Me Drool

Last week, another "first" happened. I created a savory dog treat recipe. For over 3 years, all of the recipes I've created have revolved around peanut butter, fresh fruit, dried fruit, and the occasional vegetable. That vegetable was fresh carrots for the Bodacious Carrot Cake Cookie dog treats. So, in all fairness, the fresh carrots weren't used for a savory biscuit.

After many requests for a savory biscuit, I finally said, "Yep. I'm gonna do this."

I roamed the kitchen for ingredients I could possibly use to make a homemade savory dog treat. Sweet potatoes? Yes. Eggs? Sure. Cheese? Absolutely.

After about 2 hours, I got the recipe just right. The dough wasn't too sticky. I mixed. Rolled. Cut. Baked. About 5 minutes into baking, the aroma wafted into the home office where I was during most of the bake time.

The smell distracted me. I started salivating. I was almost on the edge of drooling. It almost smelled like a seasoned pizza crust.

I could have easily spread some butter on these and eaten a half dozen.

But, I didn't.

Instead, after they cooled, I grabbed a couple for our kids to try.

It was love at first bite...even for Coco who is our pickiest eater.

I thought for sure the oregano would turn him off, but...nope.

One of the many great things about this recipe is they're easy to make. Throw all of the ingredients into a bowl, mix, roll, and bake.

That's it.

If interested, you'll find the recipe for our Cheesy Sweet Potato Biscuits right here.

Happy baking!
