Thank You Auntie M And Uncle B For The Candy Corn Hat

I correspond with many pet parents. Most I've never met. One of 'em is a sweet lady from Connecticut. Martha and her fiance are wonderful people and incredible pet parents. On occasion we exchange messages and, just recently, I sent her a box o' biscuit love. Last month, Martha posted a photo of one of her fur-babies in a candy corn hat. My heart melted and got all ooey gooey. From that point on, I was determined to find the same hat. We searched high and low. Nothing.

During one of our chats, I mentioned the candy corn hat.

A day or so later, Martha sent me a message. She went to the store with her fiance and purchased the same candy corn hat for our kids.

I was very surprised by this bit of news. My eyes widened with excitement. Our kids were going to have the candy corn hat.

When the hat arrived, my excitement grew. I rushed around the house to show the kids.

Coco and Sophie didn't share my excitement.

Lobo, who loves apparel and costumes and being in front of the lens, did his clumsy 3-legged hop while making a monkey noise.

He was more than excited.

The next day, Coco was the first to wear the hat while I took a few photos. I don't think he knew what to do. The last time he wore a hat was last Christmas. A Santa hat. The look on his face is priceless.

Sophie gave me THE LOOK when I first put the hat on her. She was not happy with me. Once she realized I had a biscuit and a piece of cheese in my hand, she was more than happy to pose. Do you know how hard it is to hold bribe treats in one hand while trying to hold a camera, focus, and snap a photo with the other?

Lobo was more than happy to wear the candy corn hat for a photo session. The look on his face says, "I OWN this hat. Put some music on, Mom, and let's DO THIS!"

Thank you Martha and fiance for the candy corn hat. I am very grateful and had a lot of fun taking photos of the kids wearing the hat. You two rock!
