I'm Convinced We Need Two Sofas

This is the scene at least once a day. Today, it happened shortly after the kids ate their breakfast. Our plans this weekend include painting over 103 Bodacious Country Crackle Holiday Ornaments. However, before hunkering down at the kitchen table with paintbrushes, paint, and trays of baked ornaments, we decided to take a few hours to get some stuff done around the house.

Lisa volunteered to vacuum, do the laundry, and wash dishes while I got some work stuff done. After topping off our second cups of coffee, and making Lisa a breakfast sandwich, my intention was to work from the sofa.

The kids had other plans in mind.

Coco and Lobo gave me the we're-not-moving-so-don't-even-ask us-to look. Sophie was already asleep.

There was a tiny space at the end of the sofa. And, I was going to wiggle my big ass in. The operative word is "was."

At the last minute, Sophie stretched out.

I'm not a size 2.

I stood there sipping my coffee.

Coco and Lobo continued to give me THAT LOOK.

A minute later, I was sipping coffee. At my desk. Working.

Kids.
