Tonight We Celebrated Life And Love

A few posts ago, I mentioned several of our neighbor friends had birthdays and an anniversary coming up all within the same week. In fact, 2 of those birthdays are on the same day. We absolutely love and adore these neighbor friends and wanted to do something special for each. With their dates of celebration so close, we decided to have a small party in the backyard with all of them present. We called it the Celebration of Life and Love.

Our celebration was today. The festivities ended around 10 p.m.

Hands down, it turned out to be an incredible evening all the way around. Earlier in the day, I prepared pasta salad, potato salad, homemade baked beans, sliced fruit, and cornbread. One of our neighbor friends lit the pit fire and make a circle around the fire with our chairs.

Lisa fired up the grill and we enjoyed burgers and deli style hot dogs. Everyone ate with gusto. The food was delicious!

It was almost dark when I brought the cupcakes out and lit the candles. I made homemade apple cupcakes with fresh caramel butter cream frosting. Everyone sang and blew out the candles. Lisa and I distributed gifts.

For the rest of the evening, we sat around the fire, relaxed, talked, laughed, danced, toasted marshmallows and enjoyed adult beverages. The air was chilly. Our neighbor friend's fur-kid and our kids took turns being in the yard with us. They enjoyed burgers and cupcakes too.

The cupcakes are pup friendly too!

These are the moments I enjoy. Lisa and I can count on one hand how many friends we have. Our tribe is small. We're okay with that.

The people in our tribe are kind. Simple. Generous. Always there to lend a helping hand. Connected. Funny. When our schedules allow us to all come together for dinner, festivities, or just to sit around a fire, it's always a great time.

Life. Is. Good.
