It's Not Edible. What Were We Thinking?!

Yesterday we made the half-hour drive to the Woodstock Fairgrounds to check out the Summer Celebration event. There were vendors, flea market items, fun stuff for human kids, pony rides, a band, etc. We wanted to check out the vendors and flea market and to show our support for the 2 women we know who participated in the event. We went early. It was miserable outside and we didn't stay long.

Total. Swamp. Ass.

On the way out, one of the vendors had caught my attention. They had a selection of handmade crafts and a lot of them were pet themed items. If you're a vendor and you have dog themed items, you immediately have my attention.

They featured a bunch of treat jars, handcrafted wood items and other miscellaneous kitty and pup stuff. While browsing, THIS caught my attention. I knew we were taking this home with us. The women who handcrafted the goods were incredibly nice and we chatted for a bit.

I was excited about our purchase and couldn't wait to get home to show the kids.

On the way home we made a couple of stops. Farmers market. Grocery store.

Once home, the kids rushed into the kitchen.

They were happy to see us.

We had only been gone for about 3 hours.

I sat at the kitchen table and took out their present.

They sniffed.

And sniffed.

Then, they all looked at me as if to say, "Mom, this isn't edible. What were you thinking?"

All 3 of the kids walked away. They weren't interested.

Sigh.
