The Art Of Buying Clothes After Losing Over 100 Pounds

Almost 2 months ago, I had to shop for new clothes. At an actual store. Instead of shopping online. That was something I had not done for years and years. However. After losing over 100 pounds and being half the woman I used to be, I had no choice.

I'm not going to lie, I put it off.

And off.

And off.

But.

One evening, I went through my closet.

Tried on clothes.

It took over an hour.

Most of my clothes were too big.

I kept a few pieces that had been too small when I bought them online.

They either fit well or were just a little too big.

I finally threw up my hands and said, "Let us do this..."

And.

We did.

We left the store with 3 pairs of lounge pants, 2 pairs of jeans, and 2 bras.

In the here and now...

The jeans are getting too big on me.

The lounge pants, even after drying them several times, are still too big.

The bras fit, but they were too much like sports bras.

I'm not a fan of the sports bra uni-boob.

Thankfully, one pair of jeans and both of the bras still had the tags on. This weekend, we returned the bras and single pair of jeans.

I found a sweatshirt and 2 pairs of capris that fit me like a glove.

Throughout this time, lessons were learned.

I'm not sure how much more weight I am going to lose.

Until then, I will choose my clothing accordingly.

For example, Kohl's had a few pairs of lounge pants in a size smaller. They will fit me now, but I know they will be too big next winter. So, I am going to wear out the 3 pairs that we bought in February that are too big for me until then.

This is such an adjustment for me.

Will I ever get used to it?

One day.

Maybe.
