The past 6 months have been a whirlwind of changes and difficult decisions. Shifts and shimmy shakes from the Universe. Trials and tribulations. Discoveries. Eye-opening experiences. That is just the tip of the iceberg.
During the last week of December, something happened. After over 20 years of working for a company, Lisa left. Due to personal reasons and respecting confidentiality, that is all I am going to divulge.
What I will say is that we made the decision that she would take a couple of months off. For many reasons. To recover. Rejuvenate. Exhale. Rest. Heal. Get reacquainted with projects and hobbies that she was once passionate about. Catch up on indoor and outdoor projects. To focus. Etc...
But, more so, to find a company that she wanted to work for until retirement.
Lisa will be hitting 55 this year.
During those 2 months, that is what we focused on. We took things day by day. Slowly. It was a rollercoaster of emotions all the way around. But. In a positive way.
Aside from researching local companies, we wanted to buckle down and focus on a specialty of sorts in the Bodacious Woodshop and Workshop.
In the past, we were all over the place between repurposing cool yard sale finds and seasonal items.
Such as...
Rustic pumpkins.
Snowmen in various shapes and sizes. All with crocheted hats and scarves.
Handcrafted Christmas ornaments.
The list goes on...
For a few years, we were doing really great. However. A month and a half after buying a house in February of 2020, the Covid 19 Pandemic hit.
Our state shut down.
Getting our hands on materials and supplies was impossible.
So...
I spent my time making face mask bands for Lisa's place of employment. Week after week. I'm fairly certain I made over 200.
In time, things improved. Our state reopened. The cost of wood and supplies blew through the roof. We utilized what we had to complete projects around the house. We made Christmas ornaments and beyond to spread Holiday Love and Cheer.
And.
These birdhouse beauties and beyond. That we made from the shelving in our bedroom that we ripped down.
But, in the here and now, we needed to focus on SOMETHING.
And.
We did.
Handcrafted Bodacious Birdhouses.
We have made these before. However. We wanted to make our Bodacious Birdhouses super great. We wanted to focus on these beauties.
And, again.
We did.
More to come.
Stay tuned...
