There Is Something Magical About Warm Homemade Cookies

One of our big concerns, when we bought our house back in February, was the neighbors. I'm sure that's a big concern for most new homeowners. No one wants shitty neighbors. We were lucky back in July of 2012 when we moved into the home that we rented for almost 8 years. We became close friends with a lot of neighbors.

A few weeks after moving into our new house, we had a House Warming party. Quite a few of our neighbors joined the festivities and welcomed us to the neighborhood. Since then, we've gotten to know some of them. We visit them. They visit us.

Earlier today, I baked homemade cookies for Lisa's lunch snacks. Lisa was outside doing yard work and had just started the lawnmower.

The neighbors to the left of us were all outside and had a few family members over. We've met all of them.

I made extra cookies and delivered them. The cookies were still very warm and gooey.

About a half-hour later, I went to the back porch to ask Lisa if she needed another Gatorade.

One of the neighbors who had enjoyed a few of the warm cookies had driven his riding lawnmower into our big backyard and was mowing while Lisa finished up our small backyard.

Big. Huge. Smile.

He saved Lisa about an hour and a half of mowing.

Lisa thanked him several times.

"No trouble at all. Now you can take the rest of the afternoon to relax and enjoy..."

That's exactly what she did.
