There Are 7 Things We Still Need To Tackle Over The Next Couple Of Weeks

It's the last day of Lisa's 3 day weekend. The kitchen is done. The walls are painted. The cabinetry is painted. We spent most of the morning putting our kitchen back together. What a feeling! The kitchen was the toughest room of all. For the first time in 2 weeks, our kitchen is fully functional again. I can't even begin to tell you how excited and relieved we are.

Even though the worst is done and over with, after 2 weeks, there are still a few things we need to tackle on Our Big Bodacious Painting Project to-do list...

1. Our tiny bathroom. I remember when our realtor showed us this place back in July of 2012. The only room I hated was the bathroom. It. Is. Small. However, I had to consider what we use the bathroom for and was it really necessary to have a gigantic bathroom.

The trim and walls need to be painted. This will require only a single afternoon.  I plan on blocking off that amount of time one day next week.

2. The new DIY Dog Mom Project Room. For the past couple of years, my workshop has essentially been utilizing the kitchen table for any and all DIY Dog Mom Projects. That has put a damper on several things.

The first, if I'm using the kitchen table for DIY Dog Mom Projets that require painting, I wasn't able to work on fabric items.

The second, if I was working on fabric items, I had no room to work on DIY Dog Mom Projects that required the use of paint.

The third, we prefer to eat diner at the kitchen table.

After much deliberation, we decided to move our bedroom into what used to be the biscuit room and transform our old bedroom into a fully functional DIY Dog Mom Project Room.

Mission accomplished. Well, almost...

Although my workshop is fully functional, I need to prime and paint the half wall (from bottom up) paneling. That will take a single day to do.

3. Hem and iron curtains. The curtains of choice for our kitchen are a bit too long. I need to hem them down to size. Then, I need to give them a swipe or two with the iron. The drapes in the home office need to be ironed as well.

Have I mentioned yet how much I hate ironing?

4. Work on the Dog Mom collage on the side and back of my desk in our home office. Since 2012, I've always had 2 large bulletin boards hanging on the walls beside and in back of my desk. Those bulletin boards were filled with cards, photos, and other symbolic items people have sent to us in the past.

When we stripped the walls prior to painting the office, I didn't want to hang the bulletin boards back up. Instead, I wanted to create a Dog Mom wall collage on the side and back wall of my desk. I have a lot of stuff to contribute to this collage. We have begun the process. To finish up, it'll take another hour to hang everything else up.

5. Spring clean our front porch. Every spring, I clean our front porch. That includes the windows, porch, and the front of the house. That only takes an hour to do. I'll be conquering that later this week.

6. Catch up on work stuff. I have a lengthy list of work stuff I need to catch up on to rev up Our Bodacious Dog Mom Life, DIY Dog Mom Projects, and writing my book. I plan on catching up by the end of the week.

7. Start our Porch of Produce. For about 4 years now, we've had a Porch of Produce. This is something we usually have organized and planted by now. Not sure if that's going to happen this year, but it's on our to-do list. At the top.

Exhale.
