Happy 1 Year Gotcha Day, Willa!

We celebrated Willa's 1 Year Gotcha Day today. I'm still having a difficult time grasping that an entire year has gone by since this little nugget of love joined our family. What a year it's been! The day Lisa brought her home, she was in full heat, had a tummy issue, needed to be updated on shots, and had some serious trust issues.

With the help of a few dear friends, we were loaded up with disposable and washable doggy diapers. After a visit to the doctor and a week's worth of meds, her tummy issue was resolved and she was updated on shots. In July, she had her spay surgery.

Willa has come a long way. She's a happy girl with a big personality. Willa adores her siblings. She's adventurous, mischevious, and loves to play fetch. She has regained her trust with us humans. Overall, she is the perfect addition to our family.

She definitely keeps us on our toes.

When our kids celebrate their Gotcha Days, they get to pick what they want for a special dinner, a cupcake they want me to bake, and a gift.

Willa really wanted a personalized DIY Doggy Toy Box. Almost a year prior to adopting Willa, we had made DIY Doggy Toy Boxes for Coco, Sophie, and Lobo. Willa wanted one too. So, that's what she got. Lisa bought the supplies last weekend. I worked my magic on Wednesday and Thursday.

For Willa's special dinner, I combined dinner and dessert. Willa can't have a lot of sugar. The amount of sugar in a cupcake with buttercream frosting would be too much.

I got creative and improvised.

I made ground chicken breast and carrot cupcakes with a mashed potato frosting. The kids were head over paws for these.

I'll post the recipe soon.

Happy 1 Year Gotcha Day Willa! We absolutely love and adore you and we are proud to be your Moms.
