I Have Plans For These 2 Pieces Of Aged Barn Wood
These 2 pieces of old barn wood have been sitting in the back hallway for about 3 weeks. I had asked a neighbor friend of ours if he had any extra wood laying around. I had a custom project to make. I gave him the measurements. He delivered. Unfortunately, I was not able to use the wood because it's aged barn wood. This particular custom order required new, solid wood because it was eventually going to be a memento to commemorate a special occasion.
Almost every day I stood in the back hallway glaring at these 2 pieces of old barn wood. I was drawn to them. They were too good to be kindling wood for our frequent backyard fires. I could feel the spark of creativity flickering and crackling.
Then, last weekend it happened. I knew what I was going to use these 2 pieces of gorgeous aged barn wood for.
Like so many other times, when I find inspiration in pieces of scrap wood. I describe the vision I have in my head with Lisa. We figure out measurements together. She grabs the power tools, cuts the wood down to size, blasts them with the sander, and then hands it over to me so I can work my magic. I need to create stuff. Often.
She gets me.
That's what happened today. Lisa grabbed her power tools, set up on the picnic table in the backyard, cut, sanded, and pieced things together.
Then, she handed everything over to me so I could work my magic.
I'm not telling you what it's going to be just yet.
What I will say is that it's a DIY Dog Mom Project. This time around, it's not going to be available for sale. It's for our kids. My goal is to have it completed by Monday afternoon.
That's all I'm saying.
For now...
