When Lisa was on vacation last month, she built quite a few Bodacious DIY Birdhouses. It's been something we've wanted to do for a long time now. It finally happened. Over the past couple of weeks, I've been working my magic in the Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Project Workshop.
Over the weekend, I worked on 6 of the Bodacious DIY Birdhouses. The first one, which isn't done yet so no photo, we're keeping for us. The second is a custom order. The rest...done! Up for grabs today.
I sold 2. Out of 4.
My spirits were crushed a bit. For reasons I won't explain.
I think the lack of interest was because I didn't offer shipping with these birdhouses.
Why?
They're heavy. Bulky. We'd have to buy boxes. And, between the expenses we forked out for the wood, paint, and protective varnish, forking out partial shipping costs from our pockets didn't seem feasible.
People don't realize that on 98% of the orders we ship out, we cover a portion of the shipping charges. That gets expensive.
Anyway...
I also know these Bodacious DIY Birdhouses veer from getting back to basics. As in...our Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Projects.
But...
They are something we've really wanted to make for a long time.
So, we did.
I have one more project that is not Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Project related that I'll be making in the next couple of days.
After that, I've got a lengthy flow of Bodacious DIY Dog Mom Projects that will be hot off the press.
Including some Dog Mom stuff for Mother's Day.
Stay tuned...
