I Do Not Feel Guilty For Loving This Time Of Day

When I get up at 4:00 in the morning, Lisa and the kids are still asleep. Lisa's alarm goes off at 4:30. Time for everyone to wake up. By that time, Lisa's hot breakfast is made. Her work lunch is packed. We're both sipping coffee. Lisa's travel mug of coffee is ready to go.

After Lisa takes our kids outside, she feeds them breakfast. Then, Lisa eats her breakfast. On our bed. With all of the kids. They get their morning snack.

Less than an hour later, Lisa leaves for work.

After a little playtime, things settle down around 7:30 a.m.

That's when our kids take their morning nap.

Things are usually quiet for a couple of hours.

Our kids are in their favorite spots. Covered with their favorite blankets.

During this quiet time, I work on blog columns at the kitchen table.

The loudest noises are the clocks ticking. The school busses going down our road. The kids snoring.

I love this time of day.

And, I don't feel an ounce of guilt for saying that.
